It has become an obsession now. I watch CNN constantly now only for the trainwreck it has become. My favorite is Glenn Beck because he’s a right-wing tool. He’s also a dick.
Last night he had “economist” and MENSA scholar Steve Forbes on to talk about, among other things, the unfair tax structure. The basis of their argument is a primary example of right-wing talking points: 1% of the wealthiest Americans pay 40% of the income tax.
There are two logical rebuttals to this, but you will never see it on a show like Beck’s or any other righty. The key word is “income tax.” When you factor in all the other types of taxes, like capital gains and Social Security, that 40% number goes down significantly.
The wealthy make most of their money through capital gains – the sale of stocks and securities. This tax is capped at 15%. I should know, this is how I make my living.
Beck also fails to note that Social Security is taxed only on the first $95,000. Someone who makes 100 million dollars a year pays only slightly more in Social Security taxes than a person making $75K.
In defending the rich, he also fails to say that the top 1% own 90% of the wealth. But that’s not his job. His job is to be a shill for the Republicans whose objective is to establish and maintain a dominant ruling class.

Glenn Beck is a dick. I’d fuck him, take him in the mouth, then spit it back down his throat just so I could tell the whole world he’s a snowballer. I’ll bet you anything he’s sucked a guy’s cock more than once.
